Herculist Review: How the Safelist Works for Affiliate Traffic
Herculist is one of the oldest safelists around. It grew out of Smart-list.com, an email marketing list started in 1998. On the Affiliate Casino floor it's a coin machine: you trade a little reading time for visitors to your offers.
How Herculist works
You join, then send an ad by email to other members. Members read ads to earn credits, and those credits let them send more ads. Everyone on the list has agreed to get these emails, which is what makes it a "safe" list.
Herculist also has theZONE, a site-surfing area, plus PRIME Ads and HercuBlurb web ads.
Free vs paid
There are Free, PRO and GOLD memberships. Free members can send an ad to 1,000 random members every day. PRO members can mail the whole list every other day, and GOLD members can mail it daily.
Our take
Herculist is a solid free starting point if you're new to safelists.
- Good: free daily mailing, long track record, has its own affiliate program.
- Watch out: the audience is other marketers, so expect them to skim. A short, curious subject line works best.
- Tip: send people to your casino page instead of a single offer, so one click shows them every machine.
